Roles are made for multiple reasons in Umbrava. Roles are assigned to users to grant a set of permissions, a standard dashboard, and set limits for what the user can approve. Roles can be created and given to users from the Roles page on the left side nav bar of the Company Profile

Creating a Role

To create a role, select the '+' button at the top of the page to open the Add Role screen.

Once a role has been created, it brings you to the Role Details page and allows you to make changes to the Role, such as:
  1. Setting a dashboard for the role
  2. Adding Users to a role
  3. Setting Permissions
  4. Setting Limits on the role

If a dashboard is set for the role, any user that is assigned the role automatically has their dashboard set to the roles dashboard. This can be overridden by assigning a dashboard directly to the user.

Assigning Users to a Role

Selecting the Users tab allows you to assign a role to a user. Select the '+' button to open the Add Role Users screen.

The users that populate this list will be anybody who is not currently assigned to a role. Users cannot be assigned to multiple roles.

Assigning Permissions to a Role

Going to the Permissions Tab shows all permissions that you have access to. Permissions can be selected from here to assign to a role.

These permissions will then be set for anybody assigned to the role. If additional permissions are required for an individual, they can be added directly to the user in the users profile.

Setting Limits for a Role

The Limits tab allows you to set an upper limit to what a user can approve, cancel, reopen, reject and submit. These limits can be set for Invoices and Proposals.

Setting these limits prevents the user from being able to take action on the Proposals/Invoices that are above the limit and pushes them to go to the proper person within their company that is able to manage proposals and invoices of that value.
